Je Suis Malade
This 48" x 48" piece was inspired by and painted to the song "Je Suis Malade" by Laura Fabian.
I painted this using only my fingers to create the textures, shapes & Effects using inks, oils, various mediums & pigments.
Listening to this gorgeous ballad, I saw a solitary dancer on a stage. The shapes created are a combination of how I saw the skirt of the dancer flaring out as she spun around the room, shapes that her legs & arms made as she carried out the movements & traces of the pattern her feet created on the floor as she danced.
Many of the pigments used shift color & tone depending on the light that hits them & your position in front of the painting. It's extremely glossy so the colors & textures appear to shimmer.
